This place has become a traditional stop for our family when visiting the area. We are never disappointed by the yummy ice cream!

We went on the Ice Cream Tour today. It was very informative and the kids loved it. The ice cream was delicious! Can't wait to go back.

Wow the price of ice cream cones have gone up. You get to pay $6.00 for two scoops of plain old vanilla than pay extra for a waffle cone. Not impressed with the service, price, or facilities. I watched the counterperson slice a banana and it was all I could do not to scream. First she sliced the banana then she peeled each slice. Must be a Florida thing cuz I never saw that before.

I'm pretty sure this place was the single biggest contributor to the couple of pounds I gained on my recent vacation to Naples. It was just up the street from the place we were staying and I think we made at least 3 different trips in the week we were there. It's a popular place so the line always looked long when we arrived, but it moved very quickly. They have tons of delicious flavors, including a few sugar-free versions. The waffle cones are light, crisp and fresh, but hold up to the very end. My favorite flavors were: mint chocolate chip, chocolate peanut butter, and dark chocolate one (don't remember the exact name). All were rich and creamy and full of flavor. The prices reflect the premium, home-made nature of the ice cream, which while not cheap, are definitely worth it.

Mmmmmmmmm! My favorite ice cream shop of all time! Seriously I wish I could eat their ice cream everyday! I always always get the "Death by Peanut Butter" flavor on a waffle cone. Literally the best!

  • Robin T.

Lots of flavors, delicious ice cream, friendly service, clean environment, kids with ice cream all over their faces to watch - what else could you want?

  • Lee Ann C.

Overrated! I think they dominate the area, so you don't have many choices. We were reeled in with the "home made ice cream" pitch, but found it to be underwhelming and overpriced :( We gave it three tries and each time I found that mine was vanilla ice cream with a couple of bits of whatever (cookie dough, heathbar, or choc chips). You really had to search. The last one was cookie dough and I swear there was one bit of cookie dough in the scoop.

Don't miss a trip to this fantastic ice cream store when visiting the area. It is fantastic.

Probably the best ice cream on the east coast. If they served Jelly Filled Donut in church and called it the body of Christ, I guarantee attendance would be higher than they are getting now with those flavorless cracker-like disks

Good product, but without good service you don't have much... Cashier rushed us through our order gave us a total of $14 something and then my husband gave her a $20. When we received our change and he questioned this amount she said "yes it was $17 something and I gave you back $2 something" (with specific amounts of course), but how hard is your job to ring things up on a register and give totals. Math is not my strong subject, but when you have a computer doing all your work... Well, you get the point! She rushed even giving this explanation. It was ridiculous. It's hard for me to even comment on the ice cream, given the sorry service. It was good. I wouldn't go back though!

Awful! I guess I am spoiled by Love Boat ice cream (Fort Myers Beach). I can't believe this pace has a 4 star rating and can only attribute it to being rated by tourists that don't know about or have never been to Love Boat. Seriously, this place is a joke! $3 for a mini cup with about 4 oz of ice cream. Now, for that same price, at Love Boat, you will receive AT LEAST a 2 cup serving and the taste, texture and flavored are superior to anything else any where in this area. Also, if you want 2 different favors of ice cream in your cup here at Royal Scoop, you have to pay EXTRA! Not at Love Boat! If this rating system had a half star rating, that's what it would get. Not only that, I wasted my time and gas to drive to this place to try it out. Sorry to say, I would not recommend, or ever go back to this establishment.

  • Zach M.

It's ok. The ice cream is good, not great and they have a lot of flavors. For the price you pay it's a good quality. May not taste incredibly fresh, but they are pretty liberal with their scoops. It's your standard homemade ice cream shop and that's nice to have in a vacation/seasonal place like Naples. It's packed all the time though. And while they do a good job to set things up and keep the line moving it can be a frustrating experience. You get a lot of older people and a lot of out of towners with kids. These people are easily distracted. I try to be nice because that might be me someday, but right now I find myself wondering if they've ever ordered an ice cream cone before. So keep your patience, listen up for your name, grab your ice cream and eat it where you can find a spot and get the hell out of there.

    (3)
  • Don S.

I think it's good. Not the best ice cream I've ever had but it's good. Well it has to be good because it's always packed but I've definitely had better ice cream.

  • Ellen K.

BEST ICE CREAM EVER! When I was younger I hated all ice cream except for Royal Scoop! Whenever we visit my Grandparents we make daily visits here! They have great dairy free options as well! There is no other place that compares to Royal Scoop!

  • Michele M.

Great ice cream, great service! What more can you really ask for!! Go and enjoy a delicious ice cream treat today.

    (5)
  • Scott M.

Cost is high but the ice cream is the best in southern Florida. So many flavors.

    (4)
  • Kirsten K.

Excellent creamy homemade ice cream. Over 30 flavors. Some have interesting names such as "Take Me Out to the Ball Game and Death by Peanut Butter.

    (5)
  • David A.

Some fresh, creamy ice cream while on vacation in Naples! Good old fashioned type of ice cream parlour with huge scoops, great flavors and a quality, homemade product.

    (4)
  • Tamara M.

Excellent homemade ice cream with a wide variety of delicious flavors to choose from. The single scoop is very generous, so the price isn't bad at all for what you get. I had the mocha chocolate chip, which had tons of chips. Also sampled: chocolate peanut butter and Kahlua fudge. Both were delicious. We've heard the lines are outrageous in season.

A parking lot filled with Lexus SUVs, Mercedes sedans, and lots of gray-haired retirees. Welcome to Naples! Deal with it, you're here for some ice cream! I went to this place twice while I was here for a long weekend. The ice cream is top notch. Even the sundaes are kick-ass! In the evenings this place is jam packed, but they have two sides to keep up with the demand. If you're in the area go here!

    (4)
  • Mike S.

Great ice cream, a bit expensive but at least they are generous.

    (4)
  • K. D.

Last night (7/30/13), our order was two ice creams and a piece of fudge - $14 (wow), and all three orders were wrong. The girls behind the line were unfriendly and dismissive to the point of rudeness. When I went back for the right flavor of fudge, the blonde treated me like an annoyance and I had to wait while she chatted with friends. Sigh. If the ice cream were good enough to justify the rudeness, we would probably be back. But it's not, and we won't.

SwFL icon for homemade ice cream, no matter what the weather. Even when it's cold and Xmas lights show the way, there are Minnesotans in shorts at these tables. The sandwiches and home made soups are good too. Packaged ice cream cakes and quarts of your favorite flavor are here for takeout. This business is loved, and makes the news. After the last hurricane, callers up North checked in to ask "Is Royal Scoop ok?" And from the more macabre, back page story last year, a woman was found expired from natural causes in her car in the Royal Scoop parking lot. Yes, ice cream to die for.

Awesome ice cream and sandwich pit stop! Love it! Perfect on a warm summer night or mid day lunch. A true American hometown welcome!

    (5)
  • Chris H.

OMG! This is REALLY good ice cream. I've tried many different ice cream stands and shops ...this is by far the BEST in the area. Lot's of choices and homemade fudge. I constantly recommend Royal Scoop Ice cream.

    (4)
  • Brian G.

Probably one of the best local ice cream shops in the Naples area! Just a short drive from Naples to Bonita Springs, the ice cream is fresh, and not too heavy. In season, the lines are long. Out of season, the lines are long. A good sign for an excellent establishment.

    (5)
  • C B.

We have a home in Bonita Springs and come to Royal Scoop multiple times on every trip. It's so great. The crowds can be intimidating but their service is typically fast. I loveeee the chocolate peanut butter, as does my husband.

    (5)
  • Meagan M.

IMO, the best ice cream in the area. I'm an ice cream snob and I'm not impressed by Coldstone or other chains with mediocre ice cream with corn syrup and crappy flavorings. This is the only place I've found in the Naples area that offers *good* homemade ice cream. They have tons of flavors, lots of sundae/cone/topping options, and they're reasonably priced. (The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because they're not *quite* as good as my favorite place ever, a local creamery in MA with the cows housed next door. ) To the people complaining about the wait... dude, get over it. a) you're getting ice cream. b) it's Naples! Also, try the fudge - I don't even usually like fudge and theirs is amazing!

    (4)
  • Sam G.

Driving up to this place, the first thing you notice is the parking lot is MASSIVE for an ice cream place. And, its like they have two of the same ice cream stores in one place because they have the capacity to open a second, completely separate line-up, serving area and cash all in the same store. On to the ice cream. Lots of good choices, perhaps 30. I settled on coconut and coffee. Coffee was mediocre - weak flavour. Coconut was better, decent taste, a little sweet. Waffle cone was insubstantial... For $5.80 or so I expect more. Its worth a visit if you are in the area, but don't expect to be blown away.

    (3)
  • Michael S.

Been here many times and it never disappoints! The ice cream is always smooth and creamy, with great service. Had the strawberry cheesecake, which is a "gotta have it" in my book!! You also always get a little bit of entertainment from the vast majority of personalities coming in and out of the place - if u like to people watch....

    (5)
  • Robin G.

Good ice cream but service was slow and they gave me the wrong ice cream flavor

    (3)
  • Brooke H.

Great selection of flavors, almost too many. Line out the door. Wished we could have sampled the flavors. Too much pressure to choose a flavor by the time you got to front of line. Good ice cream though.

    (3)
  • Sharif N.

The ice cream here is good. I dont think its the best in town, my vote goes to Kilwin Ice Cream on fifth ave. But this place has soooo many flavors, and the most flavors of Sugar free and Yogurt I have seen. I got the peanut butter/Chocolate SUGAR FREE and it was really good. I tried the regualr butter pecan and Pistachio and thought they were pretty good as well.....the seating and parking are good. The line was a little bit annoying, but overall a good experience. I would come back here if I am in the area.

It doesn't get any better than this for a late-night ice cream stop. A cool, nostalgic place with a very friendly staff. Had the best ice cream of my life on the most recent stop, Southern Pecan Cinnamon Delight.

  • Tobye D.

Eating here with the family right now. I believe I may be in a sugar coma! Seriously though, the ice cream is delicious and there are tons of choices. Good stuff.

    (4)
  • Joshua R.

ehh. I mean, it is LOCALLY made ice cream so I cannot by principal rate this lower than three "A-OK" stars. But it just isn't that great of ice cream. On the other hand, this place has been packed whether I have visited with my grandparents (they loved it), my parents (Dad loved it), or my brother (he loves it). I looked at the ingredients on their take home ice cream - i'm sorry to ruin the magic of the scoop - but it's the high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, all that jazz that may not even be in your publix ice cream that is in this stuff. But it's the atmosphere and the fact that it is actually made in the Royal Scoop building that makes this place somewhere to visit.

    (3)
  • Natalia D.

Delicious and comforting! They have a LARGE variety of flavors...I had their summer special, blueberry cobbler and it was to die for! Royal scoop transports you back in time and makes the trip sweet. Totally recommend--good thing there isn't one in Miami, or I would be in trouble.

    (5)
  • Sarah H.

Royal Scoop makes me regret not living in Naples....and then I notice the giant senior citizen population and I go back to being okay with Chicago. I LOVE this place!! I've been going there for years with my family every time we fly down to see my sister and nephews. The trip isn't complete until we go to RS at least once. Huge servings, reasonable prices, very friendly staff...totally worth fighting for the parking spot and waiting in line.

    (5)
  • Julie H.

ice cream is fine....very good premium ice cream....but not sure it is worth a 45 minute wait in line to get it....wait...it's NOT worth it.

    (3)
  • Liz K.

Every time I make the trip to Bonita Springs, I make it a priority to get my Royal Scoop fix. Great ice cream and quick service. Be prepared to wait a few minutes during the season, but I've never waited more than ten minutes.

    (4)
  • Suzie H.

Nothing super special IMHO. Many flavors/sundaes/cones options from which to choose -- but the place is always so freaking crowded that it's not a pleasant spot to visit! But it's the only game in town, since the Purple Cow closed, which is frustrating. Be prepared to fight for a parking spot and a place in line... If you do go, though, try the Peppermint Ice cream -- it's the best, hands down.

    (3)
  • Aron K.

Great little local place with awesome ice cream! Many options and flavors to choose from.

    (4)
  • Candace P.

Perfect for on the way home from the beach or a nice walk, the Royal Scoop has the most delish icecream in Bonita Springs! So many choices, its always packed and open late too. They even have icecream for your dog (vanilla) and fudge.

    (5)
  • M. C.

Creamy, tasty, delicious locally made ice cream. What is not to like? Almost always a line, but always worth the wait. My family and I stop here on ever visit to Bonita Springs/Naples, and we usually stop there multiple times. Look for coupons in the local papers.

  • James R.

This is a great place that you want to love sooo much. A real through back to a family run ice cream parlor. Plus they have sandiwhces and home made soups which I have not tried. I have come for the ice cream and after several times, I have to say that something is off, even if home made. Like everything else, home made doesn't always equal top notch. I've made ice cream at home and in restaurants. I have the same comment on almost all the flavors. There is something artificial going on. Way on the sweet side without the flavor to back it up. The pecans in the Butter Pecan tast great but the ice cream falls flat and tastes much like the ice cream used for the Praline which doesn't taste much like praline either. The bottom line, the French Vanilla has the same artificial sweet quality and here it really shows no depth of flavor. You want Vanilla. Go if you must. The staff could not be nicer. However there is another home made ice cream place between Ft. Myers and Ft. Myers Beach that I must try next since it is the ice cream I really go for and not the atmosphere. Sorry Royal. I wanted to love you but couldn't. And one single dip in a cup plus one 2 dip cone will run you just a bit over 10.00. For that I want 5 star ice cream.

    (2)
  • Bonnie G.

This place is dangerous. I'm glad it's not too nearby. They have the best, creamiest homemade ice cream in terrific flavors like chocolate almond, cherry vanilla (haven't seen that in years), banana- chocolate chip-walnut, coconut and sorbets like pink champagne and pear, besides all the usuals. And, best of all, you can pretend you're watching your carbs and calories and order a single scoop because it's HUGE. It's easily two big scoops for $3.02. Royal Scoop also makes its own fudge and is a sandwich shop. They use only Boarshead meats for their sandwiches which gives an idea of the excellence of their product. It's a little out-of-the-way, but is always busy and well worth it .

  • Kay W.

Delicious! This is ice cream the way it should be. I'm not sure why it got the mixed reviews. Kind of pricey, I agree, but I am for quality not quantity. I had the black cherry and it was terrific. Great little candy store, as well, if you are into that sort of thing. You know, wrapped, what we used to call penny candy.

I've been waiting to go since I got to Naples, and I finally went today. After working out. So I couldn't stop eating! Service: The people working there were kind and helpful. Plus, they let you try all the ice cream flavors before you buy. Ambience: very casual ice cream parlor Ice cream: Not overly creamy, perfect texture. There are a ton of flavors to choose from. The peanut butter, orange pineapple and blueberry cobbler are three of my favorites! I've yet to go back and try more! They offer coupons so check before you go!

  • Lee Z.

A wide assortments of flaovrs. The flavors we had were delicious. (Coconut and coffee a mixed hadnpacked pint, and a sundae of the.month peach cobbler) The total was 12.44 for those two items. The sundae was small.for $6 only about one and a half scoop. Mostly whipped cream. But I must say, it was good. The ice cream is very creamy and not too overly sweet.

Every trip I make to visit my parents in Bonita Springs, a trip to the Royal Scoop happens! There are so many delicious flavors. I like the death by peanut butter and mint chocolate chip. Can taste test flavors before picking one but I have never been disappointed by a flavor. The staff are friendly, helpful and quick on orders. This place is always busy. My dad purchased one of their t-shirts. Having the t shirt at the time of purchase gives you 10% off. Definitely will be going back a few more times on this trip in Florida!

  • Ken M.

Great ice cream, friendly staff, and a great family atmosphere. The kids loved the ice cream so much we went to two of Royal Scoops locations (Bonita Springs & Naples) four nights in a row!! Definitely a local place that is also enjoyed by tourists.

    (5)
  • Three Rivers J.

Lots of great flavors, and if they are not too busy they will let you order and pay - then try a few flavors so you don't have to make up your mind at the register. Overall the ice cream has lots of high quality ingredients like fruits, nuts, and flavorings and it is kept at the proper frozen temperature to be enjoyable. The girl that took care of us mentioned that they have different coolers that make all of this magic happen. Overall great fun and the portions are fair. My only complaint and the reason for the 4-stars is that it does run a little on the expensive side. We ordered a 2-scoop in a cup & a 2-scoop in a regular cone and it was $11. Definitely worth a trip, but be aware that it is located a bit off of the beaten path. I guess it proves the old adage that if you build it - they will come. We visited the place twice and ordered ice cream both times, but never did a return visit for the lunches.

    (4)

So, so delicious. Too many to choose from. If you stop on vacation come every night! We were there off season so no lines. It is definitely worth waiting for. And great mint chocolate chip!!

Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I love Royal Scoop and have enjoyed it's creamy and exciting flavors for years. It's a little pricey, but I think it's worth every penny. It's a tradition for me that I hope to share with my husband when we can get back to Florida! :)

My girlfriend and her mother have a Royal Scoop tradition, and I joined them when I visited Naples last week. Great selection of unique flavors served in an old school Ice Cream Parlor. The "Death by Peanut Butter" was the winner of all the flavors we tried.

If you are so unbelievably bored that you have decided to read my other reviews, you'll know I like my ice cream. Murdick's in Northern Michigan, Charlie's in Saugatuck, Michigan, and Royal Scoop right here are three of my go-to places. Royal has a good, changing variety and a great staff. It can get very busy in season, but it's worth the wait. Do it.

Delicious, tastes homemade and fun establishment! I got the marble cake ice cream, my husband had the chocolate peanut butter and we both enjoyed the sugar cone. Old school cool!

Classic mom-n-pop ice cream shoppe, delicious flavors and tons of choices. Fairly priced. You can't go wrong!

Delicious ice cream with very friendly and attentive employees! There is plenty of seating for large groups. Even with a large line, the employees were very quick and we had our ice cream in no time!

This place was a revelation. Delicious ice cream, friendly staff and a clean, cool and fun place to sit. Kids under 12 recite the Pledge of Allegiance for a free ice cream, and kids 3 and under get free ice cream! Right now there's also a 10% off coupon on yelp.

This review is about 2 years old but I never finished it... Be prepared to get over served to compensate for your long wait! That's the best kind of over-serving and you won't even be kicked out for it! Any flavor is fantastic-- I tend to gravitate for the chunky peanut butter/chocolate because it's too legit to quit---sitting in my stomach making me regret my decision. No, no, never! Also, shame shame on comparing brick and mortar ice cream stores to store-bought at Publix. It's all about the experience... c'mon... you know better than that!

You can never really go wrong with ice cream. This place reminds me of an old school soda / ice cream shop from childhood. Really cute place to come with family. Lots of variety and good flavors.

Love this old school ice cream shop. Death by peanut butter is my flavor of the moment but I reserve the right to change at any time. Isn't that a girl's prerogative? They're all good plus where else can you go sit in a plastic cow to get your fix? We are on the way now....3 min and I'll be in heaven enjoying my death!

I loved this place growing up, my grandparents would always take me and my brother to Royal Scoop when we'd visit. But lately, something's different. The ice cream just doesn't taste like it used to. Now-a-days I prefer another ice cream shop down the street called For Heaven Shakes.

Well it has really good ice cream, if you don't mind the long wait... I go late when the crowd has moved out... the staff always seem disorganized, no strong management present.. But it's clean friendly lots of families with children... Large selection of ice cream, hand made milkshakes and floats, they serve a limited lunch menu...

This place had a large selection of ice cream and sundaes to choose from. I will say it seemed a bit pricey $5 for 2 scoops. Overall, I will be back. There is just something about fresh ice cream that I can't get enough of.

Stopped in with the in-laws for an after dinner treat. The line was crazy long, but we were told it was actually not bad compared to some nights! It did move fast, so not a big deal, plus we were on vacation - who cares? Relax! My only complaint is that I am a "looker" when it comes to ice cream. I like to peruse the case and see what all of the options look like before ordering. Because of the way the line works, I couldn't do that. And to make things worse, the flavors (of which there are a ton) are really only visible when you start getting close to the spot where you order. So I felt panicked to decide and make sure I had considered all my options - yes, ice cream is THAT important to me. I didn't want to miss a potentially fantastic flavor because I didn't see it! Lots of waffle cone options added to my anxiety, but in the end I went with a plain waffle cone with pistachio. It was really good. I will have to go back since their flavors are always changing, and maybe I'll get in on a day when I can leisurely ponder the options!

We come here each time we're vacationing in Bonita. The peanut butter chocolate is delicious. Scope out a table while you're in line since this place gets pretty busy especially after sunset. A great local option to fulfill your ice cream cravings!

Great ice cream, a bit expensive but at least they are generous.

Probably one of the best local ice cream shops in the Naples area! Just a short drive from Naples to Bonita Springs, the ice cream is fresh, and not too heavy. In season, the lines are long. Out of season, the lines are long. A good sign for an excellent establishment.

Great selection of flavors, almost too many. Line out the door. Wished we could have sampled the flavors. Too much pressure to choose a flavor by the time you got to front of line. Good ice cream though.

We have a home in Bonita Springs and come to Royal Scoop multiple times on every trip. It's so great. The crowds can be intimidating but their service is typically fast. I loveeee the chocolate peanut butter, as does my husband.

Eating here with the family right now. I believe I may be in a sugar coma! Seriously though, the ice cream is delicious and there are tons of choices. Good stuff.

Delicious and comforting! They have a LARGE variety of flavors...I had their summer special, blueberry cobbler and it was to die for! Royal scoop transports you back in time and makes the trip sweet. Totally recommend--good thing there isn't one in Miami, or I would be in trouble.
